Teen workplace readiness workshop and job fair set April 25

April 8, 2026

The Delaware Department of Labor’s Division of Industrial Affairs, Office of Wage and Hour will host the second annual Hire Me Teen Job Readiness Workshop and Job Fair for Sussex and Kent county youth ages 14 to 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 25, at the Delaware Technical Community College Terry Campus in Dover.

The free event will equip young job seekers with knowledge, resources and listings they need to begin their employment journey and prepare for summer. Parents and employers are encouraged to attend.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with community partners and local employers, and obtain the necessary working papers to start their first jobs. This year’s agenda will include a 30-minute child labor law presentation led by specialists from the Delaware Department of Labor.

"The success of our inaugural Hire Me events exceeded all expectations, nearly doubling our projected attendance. This incredible turnout proves that our youth and families are motivated and ready to connect with the meaningful career opportunities that will shape Delaware's future workforce," said LaKresha Moultrie, secretary of labor.
