Teresa B. Weber, volunteer, avid golfer

Teresa B. Weber of Rehoboth Beach passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Middlesboro, Ky., daughter of the late James H. Berner Jr. and Virginia (Wardrup) Berner. Teresa was raised in Huntington, W.Va., where she developed a lifelong love of learning, creativity, and community.

She attended Marshall University Summer School and went on to graduate from Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart Class of 1958. Following her studies, she returned to Huntington and became director of continuity for WGA2 Radio and TV.

Teresa married the love of her life, Guy George Weber, and together they moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where they raised their family. During her years in Pittsburgh, Teresa was an active and dedicated community volunteer. She served on the board of the Junior League of Pittsburgh and chaired its 40th Anniversary Ball at the Carnegie Museum. She also served on the boards of the Crippled Children’s Home and Shadyside Hospital, and chaired the March of Dimes for the East End Area.

After moving to Rehoboth Beach, Teresa continued her lifelong commitment to helping others by volunteering with Meals on Wheels, where she delighted in delivering meals and sharing friendship throughout the Delmarva region.

Teresa was an avid golfer for more than 50 years and found joy in decorating, entertaining, and creating beautiful spaces for her friends and loved ones. She was a devoted pet lover and cherished time spent at her favorite local spots, The Robin Hood and Egg.

She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Teresa is survived by her sister, Mary Hanrahan; sister, Barat and brother-in-law Steve Wilcox; nephews Keith Whitten, Tyler Whitten, Matthew Wilcox and Mark Wilcox; sons, Guy Weber Jr., Jim Weber and Lee (Maria) Weber; daughter, Mary Magee; grandchildren, Cameron Weber, John Weber, Braden Weber, Richie Magee, Megan Magee, Katy Howard and Dustin Howard.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.
