Tim Metzner appointed to state board of landscape architecture

April 19, 2016

Davis, Bowen and Friedel Inc. has announced that Tim Metzner, RLA and an associate of the firm, has been recently appointed to the Delaware State Board of Landscape Architecture.

“Tim Metzner personifies the firm’s philosophy of improving our communities, and this appointment has afforded him an opportunity to extend that philosophy,” said DBF principal Michael Wigley. “By contributing his personal time and extensive experience to the state of Delaware, Tim will continue to have a positive effect on the public good.”

Metzner, a registered landscape architect who is licensed in Delaware and Maryland, learned of a vacancy on the board and chose to apply. He will serve with four other members, two registered landscape architects and two members of the general public, to ensure that the board’s objectives are met.

“Landscape architects design a wide variety of projects that help define and improve the communities around us,” said Metzner. “We balance the design between architects and engineers, bridging both aspects while analyzing, planning and managing to nurture the built and natural environments. I am honored by this appointment and look forward to upholding the objectives of the DSBLA.”

Metzner’s three-year term began in September when he was officially appointed to the position by Gov. Jack Markell. For more information, go to http://dpr.delaware.gov/boards/landscape/index.shtml and www.dbfinc.com.
