Two arrested in Georgetown apartment murder

March 4, 2023

Two men face murder charges in connection with the shooting death of another man Feb. 27 in Georgetown.

Police had been searching for suspects in the murder that happened at Dunbarton Apartments. Police say a woman had entered an apartment where the victim was a visitor when another man forced open the apartment door and shot the man inside several times. The man, Terrance Frisby, 20, of Georgetown died from his injuries at an area hospital, said Sr. Cpl. Jason Hatchell of the Delaware State Police.

On March 3, Hatchell said Maryland State Police and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Jaron Curtis, 24, of Dagsboro after conducting a search warrant at a home on Bethel Road in Berlin, Md.

Curtis was taken into custody without incident, Hatchell said, and is being held by the Department of Corrections pending extradition to Delaware.

The same day, Hatchell said, police charged Kevin Stone, 61, of Georgetown, who was already in custody at Sussex Correctional Institution.

Stone was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Curtis will face those charges along with second-degree conspiracy after he is extradited to Delaware, Hatchell said.

Stone remains in SCI in default of a $1,060,000 cash bond.

The Homicide Unit is still investigating and asks anyone with information to contact Detective B. McDerby at 302-741-2821. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
