During these challenging times of election politics, lingering COVID and world tension, it is appropriate to take a moment on Veterans Day to remember and honor the millions of men and women who have served our country in war and in peacetime. They have come from all walks of life; are of all ethnic, religious and racial backgrounds; are among the rich, the poor and the in-between. Some are active and some are in nursing homes. But all are veterans who were, and are, willing to put their lives on the line to protect this nation. This day is dedicated to the veterans, to recognizing their efforts, past and present, and for prayer that they are never again called upon to offer the ultimate sacrifice.
