• Cape Henlopen School District has canceled school for Tuesday, Feb. 24. Because of widespread power outages, this will not be a remote learning day; school is closed.
• Sussex Academy campuses will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 24. Due to extensive power outages across the county, this will not be be a remote learning day.
• Sussex County Vocational Technical School District will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 24, with no remote learning due to continued power outages.
• Sussex County government offices will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 24. The county council meeting set for Tuesday morning is also postponed; items on the agenda will be re-rescheduled for another date(s).
• Town of Georgetown offices will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
• The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon scheduled for 12 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Nicola Pizza has been postponed. A new date will be announced.Those who have already registered will be credited for the new date or a future luncheon.
• Meals on Wheels Lewes–Rehoboth will not deliver meals on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Deliveries will resume Wednesday. All clients have emergency meal kits in place.
• Beebe Healthcare’s two emergency departments in Lewes and Millville remain open 24 hours a day to care for the community, as do the hospital and the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus. All primary and specialty care practices will remain closed Tuesday, Feb. 24, and appointments will be moved to virtual where possible.
All elective surgeries and procedures scheduled at Beebe Outpatient Surgery Center and the Specialty Surgical Hospital that weren’t canceled by patients have been moved to the Lewes campus.
Cape Pharmacy will open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Feb. 24.

- Lab, Imaging, and Physical Rehab
- Beebe Wound Care
- Beebe Outpatient Surgery Center

County and State Emergency Operations Centers have opened up a public shelter at Sussex Central Middle School to support those who have lost power. As a reminder, if you need to seek shelter during this time, it is important to remember to pack all medications you may need for several days. For non-emergency information, including sheltering information and assistance relocating, please call the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center's public storm line at 302-856-7360.
Beebe officials are continuing to follow the National Weather Service forecasts in a 24/7 command center and will continue to announce updates on its social media pages and website.
Primary and specialty care appointments are being rescheduled or converted to telemedicine where clinically appropriate.
Virtual walk-in care visits will be available through MyChart from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24.
The process for virtual walk-in care visits:
• Login to MyChart app or desktop version.
• Click Schedule an Appointment
• Click Virtual Walk-In Care Visit
• Follow the pre-appointment registration
• You’ll be added into a visit queue
• You can stay in the app or browser, or you will receive a text message when your appointment begins
• The University of Delaware Hugh R. Sharp campus in Lewes announced there will be no instruction Tuesday, Feb. 24, with only essential personnel to report to work as scheduled. All Osher Lifelong Learning Institute courses are canceled for Feb. 24. The Newark campus will return to standard operations and in-person instruction Feb. 24. For updates, go to UDaily.
• Town of Georgetown council meeting scheduled for 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 23 is canceled. Agenda items will be added to the March 9 council meeting.
• Sussex County Board of Adjustment meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, is postponed; items on the agenda will be rescheduled.
