Twice Warmed

This morning’s arctic blast did not keep me from the Historic Lewes Farmers Market. I bundled in winter jacket and gloves to make the half mile trek to buy Hattie’s greens, Old World Breads, beets, squash, mushrooms, sweet potatoes and apples.

Homeward bound, the 2 hefty bags became the perfect weights for the Farmers Market Workout—right arm lift, left arm lift, both arms lift—all the way home!

Warmed, invigorated and hungry, I was ready to turn those fresh market apples at the bottom of the bag into a baked apple treat. Here’s my quick and easy recipe:

  • Wash, core and place apples in individual cups
  • Sprinkle raisins, chopped walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and a little water in the apple core cavity
  • Cover and bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes

Nothing satisfies like sweet warm baked cinnamon apples!
