Since 1963, the City of Rehoboth Beach has offered free entertainment at the Bandstand for residents and vacationers. This year marks another exciting season featuring an abundant variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy at 8 p.m., every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening.
The Bandstand performances will kick off with Mike Hines and the Look Saturday, May 28, bringing an exciting mix of top 40 and oldies from a local and well-respected entertainer.
The season jumps into full swing Friday, June 10 with its opening act, The Bullbuckers. Also returning on this opening weekend is the Peter Johann Band, a high-energy and enthusiastic act featuring some of today’s hits. Rounding out the opening weekend, the United States Navy Country Current makes its annual visit to Rehoboth Beach. Today’s Country Current performs a diverse mix of bluegrass favorites and cutting-edge country music.
Popular acts are making a return to the stage, featuring regional and national touring acts such as The Joseph Sisters, The Phillip Fox Band, and newcomer The Morrison Brothers Band.
“Tribute acts have always been a big hit in Rehoboth Beach,” says Program Director Corey Groll. “People love to come out and sing along with their favorite songs, and groups that dedicate their entire performance to a particular person or group always make the evening exciting for everyone!”
With such a wide variety of tribute artists to showcase, there is certainly enough to choose from. The annual and much-anticipated Jesse Garron (Elvis) performance will be showcased Saturday, July 9, followed by some new tribute acts appearing on stage. Real Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute act, is set to play Saturday, Aug. 6.
