County Bank donates to three local Boys & Girls Clubs

July 3, 2016

County Bank recently contributed to three Boys & Girls Clubs in southern Delaware. The clubs in Georgetown, Oak Orchard and Rehoboth Beach each received a $500 donation for their Reading is Fundamental programs. These programs are designed to keep children reading throughout the summer.

The hope for the children is to improve their literacy skills and their joy of reading by providing them with fun reading materials and incentives. Each week a book is selected and the children are supplied with a reading log. The summer program runs for 10 weeks with prizes awarded at the end.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.  Children take part in educational activities, building self esteem and positive values during critical stages of their childhood development. They also take part in athletics, arts and cultural activities.
