Elvis tribute show to benefit cancer survivors' fund
Delaware's own Bob Lougheed and the Mystery Train Band will bring their Elvis Presley tribute show to the new event center at Nassau Valley Vineyards on Friday, June 24. Lougheed is a highly-regarded and frequent performer at Dover Downs and has also been contracted recently for a number of corporate events in Las Vegas.
The June 24 event is a benefit for the Sussex County Cancer Survivors' Fund which will receive all proceeds from the show. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m. and continue until 11. Tickets are $25 and can be obtained by calling 645-9463. They include the show and light fare. There will also be a cash bar. Tickets can be purchased and held at a Will Call window for the show.
The show will include a warm-up band, silent auction and other events. Lougheed said there's no problem filling a four-hour Elvis Show. "He recorded like 7,000 songs - just amazing."
Which Elvis song is Lougheed's favorite to sing? "There are so many, but I guess my favorite is Suspicious Minds."
"They call it a trap; I can't walk out; because I love you too much baby."
