Programs and services announced at Rehoboth library - free tax prep available starting March 6

February 24, 2017

Rehoboth Beach Public Library offers many programs and services to the community. Free tax preparation will be offered for the greater Rehoboth-Dewey area. As part of the AARP Foundation, the nation’s largest free nonprofit tax preparation service, volunteers will be providing free, confidential, in-person tax preparation. There are no fees, sales pitches, memberships or age requirements. The free tax preparation will be available from 4 to 7 p.m., Mondays, March 6, 13 and 20. Registration is required. To schedule a one-hour appointment, call 302-227-8044.

When stressed, the obvious choice is to unwind with a good book. The library also provides ebooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines. For no charge, Delaware library cardholders can read magazines like Consumer Reports, Time, or People on the Flipster app, or read or listen to a book on the Overdrive app. For help getting started or for technology instruction in general, call to schedule a private technology instruction session.

Those are just two of the many online resources that come with a library card.

No card? Still stressed? No problem! There are classes to help all ages unwind. Dancing with Thom is held Wednesdays. Beginners’ classes start at 5 and 6 p.m. Basic classes start at 3:30 p.m.  Lessons are $10 per class.

Crafternoon sessions are set Fridays, starting March 14. Attendees work on a craft  and unwind. The Socrates Café hosts weekly discussions at 1:30 p.m., Thursdays.

Upstairs library space is available for rent for private parties, business meetings and other events. The library is at 226 Rehoboth Ave. For more information, go to www.rehobothlibrary.org or call 302-227-8044.To sign up for the Rehoboth Beach Public Library newsletter, email rehobothbeachlibrary@gmail.com
