CAMP Rehoboth receives $22,750 grant from Delaware Community Foundation

July 28, 2017

CAMP Rehoboth recently received a $22,750 grant from the Delaware Community Foundation under the foundation's Capital Grants Program. The grant award will allow CAMP Rehoboth to complete a two-year plan for priority repairs to the community center at 37 Baltimore Ave. in Rehoboth Beach.

"We are very grateful to DCF for their support of CAMP Rehoboth," said Steve Elkins, executive director. Over the last several years, CAMP Rehoboth has used the community center to bring value to the local community. Several new discussion groups were added, each aimed at an aspect of community well-being. In addition, other nonprofits regularly use the community center as a meeting place. "As a result of receiving this award, we can continue to offer these programs in the community center," said Elkins.

In June, DCF Grants Committee Chair Andy Staton and Senior Vice President Rick Deadwyler visited CAMP Rehoboth to make the presentation.

CAMP Rehoboth is a 501c3 nonprofit, gay and lesbian community service organization, originally established to Create A More Positive relationship among all the people of the Rehoboth Beach area. Over the last 27 years, it has grown into a full-service community center with a multitude of activities, events and programs.

The Delaware Community Foundation helps communities and philanthropists focus charitable resources for the greatest community benefit statewide. Over the last 28 years, the foundation has awarded nearly 600 capital grants totaling over $6 million. For more information, go to www.camprehoboth.com and www.delcf.org.
