John Anthony Fiacco, construction worker
John Anthony Fiacco, 61, of Georgetown passed away at home in the care of his family. Born March 28, 1950, in Rome, Italy, he was the son of the late Dario and Natalina Porfilo Fiacco. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for many years in construction and was a skilled handyman who could fix anything. He was a dedicated father, a very determined man, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a Fox News enthusiast. He was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church; the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Dagsboro; and a beloved figure in the community.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Squires Fiacco; three children: Regina Christine Fiacco, Ryan Giovanni Fiacco and Natalie Ruth Fiacco; and his brother Gino Fiacco and his wife, Diane. In addition, he leaves his brother-in-law James Squires; and four sisters-in-law: Eleanor Gregory, Marjorie Johnston, Dorothy Weidert and Christine Squires. He also leaves behind his two beloved canine friends, Reeses and T.J.”
A viewing and calling hours will be held at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, from 4 to 8p.m., Wednesday, July 20, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 22, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 202 Edward St., Georgetown. Father David Conway will officiate. Interment will follow at 1 p.m., at the Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association; 3001 Old Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
