Bob and Jane DeRose of Lewes recently traveled to beautiful Alaska. They enjoyed seeing the sled dogs, Native Americans and the grizzly bears, caribou and moose in Denali Park. The most incredible part of the adventure was the boat ride from Skagway, up the Chilkat fjord onto a rickety bus to the outfitter’s camp. Once arriving at camp, they enjoyed a hike through the woods to the canoes where they paddled across a glacial lake in the rain, and walked 3/4 mile to stand in front of the Davidson Glacier with a rushing river coming from under the glacier.
