Theldon Michael Derry, Mountaire employee

October 16, 2018

On Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, and from his most happy place on earth, the Lord called home Theldon Michael Derry, affectionately known as "Seejay," 50, of Milton. He was born Friday, June 21, 1968, in Bronx, N.Y., son of the late Archie and Evelyn June (Parham) Derry.

Mr. Derry proudly served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. Currently, he was employed at Mountaire Farms as a distribution loader. Mr. Derry had a great sense of humor and was extremely affable. In his spare time, he was an avid artist, especially graffiti art. He was known for being a movie buff and loved Marvel Comics, but most of all he loved being at home with his dear wife.

Mr. Derry is survived by his loving wife of three years, Joele Jonica Criswell of Milton; his son, Taron Xavier Derry of Austin, Texas; his stepson, Renny Criswell; his father and mother-in-law, Louis and Elli Colon; his Uncle Rodney and Aunt Susan Carnahan; his five brothers: Steven, Brian, Derek, Arthur and Bruce Derry; his four sisters: Kathy, Jackie, Tashea and Keisha. And last but not least, his "little boy Ted," his dog.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. 4th St., Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 3 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Derry's name to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947, or to the foster child program of your choice.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
