1776 Steakhouse to host Radio Rehoboth fundraiser Feb. 10

2nd Time Around to take the stage
February 6, 2019

1776 Steakhouse will host a fundraiser for public radio station Radio Rehoboth 99.1 FM from 5 to 10 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10.

All are invited, free of cover charge, to dine at the renowned restaurant in the Midway Shopping Center on Coastal Highway, and to participate in the silent auction. Local jazz band 2nd Time Around will provide live entertainment.

Airing locally on 99.1 FM, Radio Rehoboth reaches Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Dewey Beach, and streams online at as well as on the TuneIn app. The station hosts local live programs and broadcasts music, news, live community events, traffic and information about all that is important to visitors and locals throughout beach resort areas.

Broadcasting from the top of its Rehoboth studios, the station owners have plans to move the transmitter to a higher tower on Route 1, which will greatly extend its coverage area to include coastal towns further south and additional surrounding areas. To meet this objective and to cover general operating expenses, Radio Rehoboth 99.1 FM also seeks title and programming underwriting.

Station General Manager Jeff Balk thanked Tom Holmes of 1776 Steakhouse for his generosity in hosting the fundraiser. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of sales of food and beverage generated during the event. To donate an item to the silent auction, bring it to 1776 the night of the fundraiser. Reservations are suggested but not required. To contact 1776 Steakhouse, call 302-645-9355

Balk said, “The mission of 99.1RadioRehoboth is to provide community-oriented programming that serves the interests of local residents and businesses. Our goal is also to become the premier source of news and entertainment for area visitors, enhancing their vacation experiences by providing exposure to local businesses, community organizations, and events, as well as government safety and information programs."

"Business owners like Tom Holmes understand the importance of our mission, and the unique ability our station has to reach customers exactly where they are, just when they are about to make decisions about dining, entertainment and shopping; and possibly to consider moving to our area, or continuing to return as vacationers,” he said.
