Westminster Presbyterian Church hosts family seder

April 22, 2019

Westminster Presbyterian Church members and friends were treated to a family seder led by Reb Lisa Levine and the Rev. Doug Griffin April 18.

The Haggadah is the retelling of the story of the Hebrew people as they hurriedly left Egypt. Items of food are identified with their journey and recollections of the hard life they endured as slaves. Levine led the songs with her guitar, and she guided the tastings of bitter herbs, charoset, matzah, and the meal of matzo ball soup, salad, beef brisket and dessert. Diners enjoyed songs of the children and their four questions, songs of Moses, and songs of praise for their deliverance. Griffin then led a Maundy Thursday testament.

Rosenfeld’s Jewish Deli supplied the seder meal in cooperation with Levine, who is the religious leader of Seaside Jewish Community.

Griffin said he hoped the faith family of Jews and Christians would hold many more events together.
