Rehoboth-Dewey Chamber welcomes five new members

Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce welcomed five new members who were in attendance at the chamber’s monthly meeting April 26 at the Cultured Pearl Restaurant and Sushi Bar. 

“There are five new members present,” host and past board President Jay Becker said, “including Jetset Travel; Steve W. Falcone, CPA; Aging at Home with Village Volunteers; Ocean Glass Inn; and Edward Jones Investments.”

Kim Hoey Stevenson, community relations manager for Make -A-Wish Delaware, asked chamber members for support. “We are new in Delaware,” she said. “Anything you do in Delaware will help a Delaware kid. We have scientific proof that wishes are about their healing.”

Kathy McGuiness, state auditor, discussed her new position. “We have made amazing strides in 100 days,” McGuiness said. “We are concerned with fighting fraud waste, specifically dealing with state money.” She inspired the crowd to take notice of the work that the State Auditor’s Office does. “If you care about how your tax dollars are spent, you need to pay attention to this office,” she said. “If this office is functioning, you are getting the most bang for your buck.” 

Also present at the event were Rehoboth Beach Mayor Paul Kuhns, Rehoboth Beach City Manager Sharon Lynn, State Director for Sen. Chris Coons Jim Paoli and others. 

Becker closed the event by thanking the speakers and applauding the new members on joining.
