It's been almost two years since the Philadelphia Eagles played the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. This weekend’s matchup will definitely be a different game, as the Patriots have a very good defense this year instead of the strong offense during the Eagles’ Super Bowl year. I think the Eagles will have to play their best game of the season on Sunday to have any chance of winning. If they can pull this off, it could possibly take first place away from the Dallas Cowboys. Man, I hope they really step up to the challenge and have a great game.
As I predicted, the college football playoff rankings changed a good bit. LSU was able to defeat Alabama in a very good, high-scoring game 46-41 and are now ranked first. They are followed by Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama. Last week’s No. 4 Penn State lost to Minnesota. That loss will probably knock Penn State out of contention for the playoffs. Alabama’s history and reputation will probably keep them in the running for now.
I really don't want Alabama to win the National Championship. They have had enough celebrations in the last 10 years. They are basically the New England Patriots of college football. I want to see another team win.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been struggling the past two weeks. If they want to contend for the championship this year, they are going to have to get their act together to beat the mediocre teams. They can't be losing to a team like the Orlando Magic. Orlando has definitely improved and is making progress, but 76ers should have come away with a win.
It's time to acknowledge my high school alma mater for their fall sports efforts. TheCape Henlopen girls’ volleyball made the state tournament and the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the state championships last weekend. The girls’ field hockey team will play in the state finals again this weekend. Go Vikings.
