Good Earth Market is a hidden gem in Rehoboth

Offerings appeal to a wide range of consumers
December 3, 2019

Good Earth Market is on Rehoboth’s Forgotten Mile tucked behind Bin 66.

Many may have driven by without noticing it or may have caught a glimpse of their sign and meant to stop in some day. Some assumed it was a too specialized market to suit their needs, envisioning a shop full of dairy-free cheeses, meatless meats, vitamins, gluten free pasta and essential oils. Yes, Good Earth Market does indeed offer all of those things and aisles of foods free of allergens, vegan eggs, dried fruit, raw organic nuts, earth friendly toilet paper and paper towels.

But shoppers don’t need to be on a special diet to find foods and other products they love. Offerings include grass-fed beef, fresh organic eggs, goat’s milk yogurt, local honey, potato chips, oatmeal, ice cream and various other groceries that appeal to a wide range of consumers.

Upon entering Good Earth Market, visitors are greeted not only by the friendly staff, but also by the gentle aromas of oils, soaps and other health and beauty products that swirl together in a refreshing mix of scents. New customers will be pleasantly surprised to find that there are a lot of products available that they thought weren’t available in the area. If a customer is looking for something the store doesn't have in stock, Good Earth Market will order it, with most orders arriving within a week. Those who order a case of any product, will receive a 10 percent discount.

When Good Earth Market in Rehoboth first opened in 2012, it was a breath of fresh air for people tired of eating overly processed foods while at the beach. Today, seven years later, it remains a solid choice for healthier eating on vacation. Now that some of the chain grocers are starting to catch up with better options, Good Earth Market isn’t the sole option for healthier fare, but being locally owned by a kind and conscientious family means that shoppers can feel good about spending their money there, knowing it returns to the community.

That the community is clearly important to Good Earth Market is reflected in some of the local products they carry including Nectar Collector’s local honey and pollen, Backyard Jams and Jellies, Birch Tree Baker’s gluten free breads, Real Raw Kombucha brewed in Ocean City, Md., and even a lovely selection of pottery from local artists.

In December there is a collection box for Toys for Tots out too, further reminding folks that Good Earth Market cares.

Although CBD products seem to be popping up everywhere lately, Good Earth Market has carried them for years. As a matter of fact, Good Earth was first to market CBD in the area. All of the products on their shelves are from brands and companies they have long worked with and trusted. Each bottle of lotion, oil or box of tea has been hand selected by owner Susan Ryan, and tested, trusted and vetted by endless positive feedback from customers. One longtime customer said “I have tried everything for my knee pain, the CBD oil is working wonders.”

Now is a perfect time to stop into Rehoboth’s Good Earth Market for a look, snack or groceries and learn what makes it so good.
