On holiday at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay with the Cape Gazette

February 15, 2020

Cape Gazette readers George & Mike didn’t think twice about escaping the cold weather in Lewes by hopping on a plane and traveling to the Coral Coast of Nadi.

“A 5-hour flight to LA and then an 11-hour flight to Fiji was so worth it,” said Mike. “Once we arrived, we traveled by jet boat on the Sigatoka River to the Nalebaleba Village where we were welcomed by the warm, humble people of the village, enjoyed regional dishes for lunch prepared by our hosts ‘family’ and NO, cannibalism has not been practiced in a very long time!”

George & Mike also spent a lot of time on the beach and catamaran sailing, with warm waters just steps from their bure (the Fijian word for a wood and straw hut).

To ensure they were never bored, a Tropical Cyclone Warning was issued but, fortunately steered clear of Nadi.
