I had the opportunity to participate in a Zoom meeting Sept. 9 wherein I had an opportunity to listen to the candidates running for Sussex County Council, District 3. One of the questions directed to Mark Schaeffer was how long he had resided as a full time Sussex County resident. Mark’s reply was he has lived full-time in Sussex County for the past 18 years (since 2002). Prior to my moving to Sussex County, I lived in Smyrna and I vividly recall he was running for re-election as the mayor of the Town of Smyrna Delaware in the spring of 2007. Well, those years don’t add up . . . this misinformation gives me pause to consider what else may not be adding up? That decision will be made Sept. 15, in the general primary. Vote wisely.
