Michael V. Macklin, services scheduled

Michael V. Macklin, 62, of Georgetown passed away peacefully Monday, May 18, 2020. Mike was a 1975 graduate of Sussex Central High School and worked hard for Pepperidge Farm for many years. He also was retired from Acme. 

Mike enjoyed many things including gardening, saltwater fishing, being outdoors, playing cards with friends, playing volleyball at the old Crab Barn, and being at the beach. 

Mike loved his family. He is survived by his parents, Virden and Madelyn Macklin; brother Greg Macklin (Cathy); and sister Patti Seabolt (John), all of Georgetown. Mike is also survived by two sons, Adam (Kate) of Smyrna, and Jake (Emily) of Seaford; and seven grandchildren, Brennan, Mason, Luke, Shayla, Sarah, Elizabeth and Sonny. 

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m.  A time of visitation will begin at 1 p.m.  All in attendance must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols.
