Alvin Donald Dressler, Ford Motor retiree
Alvin Donald Dressler, 94, of Rehoboth Beach passed away in his sleep Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Brandywine Senior Living. He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Clara (Smith) Louis Dressler.
Alvin obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Ohio State University and worked 45 years for Ford Motor Company as a line supervisor before retiring from there. He was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the Army and was in War World ll.
In 1996, he married his beloved wife, Catherine Dressler in LaPlata, Md. Alvin was a lifelong member of the Ohio Masons and VFW. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with those he held most dear. Alvin was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine Dressler, who passed away in 2017; his granddaughter, Stephanie; and his sister, Adele Dressler. He is survived by his three daughters: Carmen Price, L. Olivia Dressler and Linda Turner; his son: Loren Dressler; his grandchildren: Alyssa, Samantha, Lisa, Leonard Jr., and Betty; and other extended family.
Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
