The May 8 election brings an opportunity for new commitment, fresh ideas and renewed dedication to the Lewes BPW. Four of the five members of the board have been embroiled in controversy with the city for over three years with no progress at a tremendous cost to taxpayers and rate payers. It is time to resolve this once and for all for the benefit of the City of Lewes and its residents. It is time for solutions. Earl Webb and Richard Nichols are well qualified to bring about that change. They are advocates for transparency, communication and engaging the public - something that BPW has yet to accomplish.
I often hear members of the BPW board say the public does not attend our meetings. Perhaps it is because proposals by the general manager are introduced and adopted (rubber stamped) with little or no discussion. Not much opportunity for public participation. There are no committees of any sort where the public can contribute their ideas or pose questions about past, current or future activities that impact the ratepayers or citizens.
It is time for change!! Earl and Richard can bring about that change. Vote for Earl Webb and Richard Nichols for the Board of Public Works May 8.
