New mother grateful for superb care at Beebe

June 8, 2021

I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy April 30, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare. Garrett Thomas arrived safely and swiftly at 7:50 a.m. via C-section under the watchful eyes of my obstetrics/gynecology physicians, Dr. Angela Caswell-Monack and Dr. Holly McKiel.

These two amazing doctors were with me through my pregnancy – Dr. Caswell-Monack for many years prior – and their treatment of me every step of the way was personal, on-point and caring. I cannot say enough about the competency, professionalism and focus I received from them.

My pregnancy was considered high risk. Dr. Caswell-Monack stood by me as solid as a rock – and even as a friend – monitoring my pregnancy and reassuring me every step of the way. My celebration of excellent care at Beebe truly begins with her.

My experience in the operating room was equally confidence-building. I was told what was being done every step of the way. I felt that I was in good hands with the entire team, and I was.

As a first-time mother, however, I really had no idea what an enormous and intimate charter was given to the labor and delivery nurses.

I was lucky to have a team of nurses to care for me, all of whom were awesome and special because of how they care for their patients.

I do, however, want to give a special shout-out to Mariah Little and Katie McQuaid.

These two women cared for me, my fiancé Scott, and baby Garrett in ways that I can only hold and treasure in my heart. Their genuine concern, helpful support and honest interaction with all of us is a huge part of the continuum of excellent care that I received at Beebe. We cannot thank Mariah and Katie enough for helping us welcome Garrett into the world and guiding us through those first sleepless 24 hours.

Scott and I are truly appreciative of the excellent care that our family received from Beebe. And we are truly honored and thankful that Dr. McKiel, Dr. Caswell-Monack, Mariah Little, and Katie McQuaid played a role in welcoming our son into this world. We are forever grateful.
