Coral Lakes is another unnecessary development

March 8, 2022

I have been following with great interest the letters to the editor of the Cape Gazette in opposition to the proposed Coral Lakes development by Schell Brothers on Robinsonville Road.

I have also observed, and share in, the growing frustration amongst my neighbors, and virtually anyone in Sussex County who I speak with, regarding the explosion of construction over the past few years.

Virtually everywhere we look here in the eastern part of the county we see the removal of a forest or the filling up of a former cornfield to build yet another housing development. And for what reason? Has anyone asked existing residents, who are, by the way, taxpayers, whether or not we support such obviously out-of-control growth?

I look forward to November to support a more responsible growth candidate to the Sussex County Council, and to remove those who have failed us.
