The following is a response to Sussex County Board of Adjustment member Jordan Warfel’s letter in the March 3 edition regarding his approach to filling out a conflict-of-interest form.
Mr. Warfel, I, as a Sussex taxpayer, am highly insulted by your letter to the Gazette March 3. Why do you think you cannot clearly attest, to we the taxpayers, that you have no conflicts of interest? Please do not pretend that as an official with judicial independence you won’t or can’t tolerate oversight.
There are numerous reasons why SCOTUS approval ratings are sinking toward absolute zero, but No. 1, in my opinion, is that they rebel and refuse to accept any second-party review of their neutrality or accountability, which in many cases is extremely suspect. Please, feel free to pick which ox you’d like to gore.
Sign the form or resign immediately. I will not trust you as our civil servant otherwise, and you approach tarnishing the board of adjustment.
