I am certain that everyone at one time or another regrets some decision made or not made in their youth. I regret not investing in a startup company that manufactures orange barrels for road construction sites. Sussex County has made millionaires of this company's investors.
Seriously, though, our highways and intersections here in southern Sussex County are seemingly all under construction at the same time. After 20-plus years of negligence and poor planning on highways, intersections and mini-malls (compliments of DelDOT engineers and Sussex County officials), we encounter long lines of cars at intersections, travel logjams, and roads under construction in almost every area.
Yes, they have finally come around to start fixing and correcting our roads and intersections, but a day late and a dollar short. This should have been done 20 years ago. But take heart – there still are shares available for purchase at the ABC Orange Barrel Construction Company. It appears Sussex County is going to keep the company profitable for quite awhile.
