Cape sophomore Griffin Kammerer went the distance at Sussex Central May 3, shutting out the Golden Knights 7-0 on three hits. The complete game shutout came on the sophomore's 16th birthday.
Cape only needed the one run in the first, but broke it open with a six-run fifth inning. Adam Marcinizyn collected two hits and knocked in three RBIs, and Dumarius Gooch also had two hits and two RBIs.for the Vikings.
Cape improves to 6-7 on the season and next plays at Indian River Tuesday, May 8.
