Legislators need to expand voting rights

March 8, 2024

I was dismayed to read the recent Superior Court decision by Judge Mark Conner striking down early voting and permanent absentee voting in Delaware. This is a serious step backward for all Delawareans, regardless of party affiliation. In the last election, 56,000 voters took advantage of early voting; 21,000 applied for permanent absentee voting, including many voters who are disabled and find it difficult to reach their polling places.

What can we do now? We need to call on our Delaware legislators to pass an amendment to the state constitution that will expand voting options for all Delawareans. Make your voice heard!
