September 4, 2024

The Sussex Preservation Coalition will hold its next meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

Area residents and other attendees will be able to learn about the roles and responsibilities of Sussex County government regarding land development, and find out what can be done to bring about change.

The meeting is free and open to the public, and a Zoom link will be available at sussexpreservationcoalition.org. Attendees are asked to register in advance by emailing spcde.org@gmail.com

The Sussex Preservation Coalition and the League of Women Voters of Sussex County Delaware teamed up to develop a presentation that explains the roles and responsibilities of county government officials in relation to land-use decisions. It also explores how changes can be made to the rules and regulations that govern those decisions. After the presentation, there will be time for questions.

SPC also will provide details it has recently learned about the Northstar project, celebrate the approval of the Perimeter Buffer Ordinance and introduce its new website.

SPC is a coalition of local environmental groups in Sussex County dedicated to preserving and protecting local ecosystems. Its mission is to increase the impact of groups and individuals by working together to educate, organize, advocate and act.
