Women’s Club of Indian River tea benefits Read Aloud Delaware

The GFWC Women’s Club of Indian River recently hosted a tea in support of Read Aloud Delaware.
Stacy Penaranda, Sussex County director of Read Aloud Delaware, provided an overview of the children’s literacy program and its volunteer opportunities. Read Aloud aims to help every child in the state acquire the fundamental literacy skills needed to succeed in school and life. Volunteers read to children one-on-one in 40 childcare centers, preschools and elementary schools in Sussex County.
Attendees brought more than 40 children’s books to donate to the program.
Guests included GFWC Delaware State President Jan Conant as well as other GFWC club leaders from throughout Delaware.
