Patricia A. Beggarly, dedicated to helping others
Patricia A. Beggarly, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Lewes Monday, May 19, 2025.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, Sept. 27, 1944, Patricia was the daughter of the late James and Mary (O’Connor) Lawton. She dedicated her life to caring for others, beginning with her education in nursing school, where she became a licensed practical nurse. Her long and accomplished career included serving as a manager at the American Red Cross Donor Center for 25 years, working as an OB nurse at Franklin Square Hospital, and volunteering as an EMT with Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company in Maryland.

Her warmth, generosity, and strong spirit touched everyone who knew her. She gave freely of her time and love to family and friends, and her presence will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Mary Jo Lui. She is survived by her son, Timothy Cooper and his wife Tara; and her cherished granddaughter, Bridget Cooper, all of Harbeson. She also leaves behind her brothers, Joseph Lawton (Elaine) of Baldwin, Md., and Michael Lawton of Blue Ridge, Ga.; her cousin, Cathy Rossetti of Lewes; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 19, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where family and friends are invited to visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Private family entombment.
