Delaware Symphony Orchestra announces 120th season

June 15, 2025

The Delaware Symphony Orchestra, led by new Music Director Michelle Di Russo, announced its 120th season will include two performances in Lewes.

The Beethoven and Blue Jeans program will embrace casual wear and creative flair as Kimberly Reighley, principal flutist,  performs Lowell Liebermann's “Flute Concerto,” and musicians of the DSO shine in Beethoven's monumental “Eroica Symphony.” The program will begin at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes.

A performance titled Flames of Renewal will feature the vibrancy of Stravinsky’s “Firebird” and guest pianist Peter Dugan on Gershwin’s piano concerto at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, April 26, at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes

"It's an exciting time at the DSO," said J.C. Barker, CEO. "We look forward to ushering in a new era with Michelle as our new artistic leader."

“I believe in music that moves us, challenges us, and brings us closer together — and I believe this season’s performances will do just that,” said Di Russo. “I can’t wait to embark on this musical journey with the DSO and our enthusiastic community throughout the First State and beyond.”
