Helicopter used to inspect power lines near Lewes

Low-flying chopper one way Delmarva Power tries to prevent issues

A low-flying helicopter was used to inspect power lines in the Lewes area July 7. A contractor sits in the helicopter with binoculars to inspect the lines. 

A spokesman for Delmarva Power said the company performed comprehensive visual inspections of transmission lines as part of proactive efforts to periodically inspect power lines throughout the service area and address any potential issues to help ensure reliable service for customers.
