Betty Lou Dlabik, retired nursing supervisor
Betty Lou Dlabik, 85, of Milton, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
Born in Trenton, N.J., she was a resident of Ewing for 39 years before moving to Milton in 2006. Betty Lou retired after 46 years of dedicated service as a nursing supervisor with Capital Health Regional Medical Center. She was a former parishioner at The Church of St. Ann and a current parishioner at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Lewes. She was an active member of the Sussex Family YMCA, where she participated in water aerobics daily and played cards weekly with a beloved group of friends. Betty Lou was a member of Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540. She enjoyed going to the beach with friends, going to the theatre, and listening to live music. Betty Lou will be sorely missed for her wit, charm, and endearing smile.
Betty Lou was the daughter of the late Alexander and Bernadine Ponting, mother of the late Dawn Marie Dlabik, Ronald Dlabik and Edward M. Dlabik III, and wife of the late Edward M. Dlabik Jr. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Dlabik and wife Debbie, David Dlabik, and Daniel Dlabik and fiancée Kristina Morales; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Dlabik; her grandson, Edward M. Dlabik IV and his wife Rachel; her granddaughter, Allison Dlabik and her fiancé Aaron Jackson; her great-granddaughters, Madison and Riley; her great-grandson, Cameron; her sister Mary Ann Schmitt, her brother, Thomas Ponting and his wife Daisy; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 14 at The Church of St. Ann, Lawrenceville, N.J., followed by interment in St. Hedwig Cemetery, N.J.
A local memorial celebration will be at noon, Sunday, Sept. 7, at Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540, 18544 Beaver Dam Road, Lewes.
