Lewes council to hold workshop Sept. 24

Lewes Mayor and City Council will hold a workshop and special meeting at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, at city hall.

The agenda includes possible action on bids received for the floating dock replacement.

Lewes art group to meet Sept. 24

The Lewes Board of Public Works will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, at city hall. Cape school board to meet Sept. 25

The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, at Love Creek Elementary School. Board members will review a district unit count update and a class size waiver, in addition to a Fiscal Year 2026 preliminary budget amendment relating to opportunity funds.

Hope Walk to support Huntington’s research Sept. 28

The Huntington's Disease Society of America Northeast Region will host the Delaware Team Hope Walk with registration at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, in Cape Henlopen State Park at the main beach pavilion. The event starts at 10 a.m.

Huntington's is a brain disease that is passed down in families from generation to generation, with symptoms described as having ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s simultaneously. Today, there are approximately 41,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at risk of inheriting the disease.

Team Hope is HDSA’s largest national grassroots fundraising event; it takes place in more than 100 cities across the U.S. and has raised more than $28 million for Huntington's disease since its inception in 2007.
