Kevin A. Conner, veteran, federal retiree

October 31, 2025

Kevin A. Conner, 75, passed away peacefully at home in Florida Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, surrounded by his wife and family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joanne L. Conner of Delaware and Florida; four children, Donna Conner of Centreville, Md., Karen Hostedler of Dagsboro (husband Marty), Ryan Conner of Georgetown (wife Rachel), and Len Weiser of Philadelphia, Pa., (husband David); and his niece Tara Ott Delaware and Florida. Kevin was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Kevin honorably served in the Army National Guard and dedicated 36 years of service to the U.S. government as a customs inspector. Outside of work, he loved the outdoors, enjoyed flying planes, and was happiest on the water. He and Joanne owned and operated K & J Ice Cream, an “ice cream boat” serving sweet treats along the waters of Rehoboth Bay for eight years.

Kevin also had a deep love of food and a natural gift for cooking and grilling. Whether preparing a backyard feast or working the grill at family gatherings, he found joy in feeding others and bringing people together through good food and laughter.

Kevin will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and love for family.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at Long Neck Shores, 32531 Shoreview Blvd., Long Neck. Guests are invited to join for a light lunch at noon.
