Dog costume contest benefits Grass Roots Rescue
Big Chill Surf Cantina recently hosted its inaugural dog Halloween costume contest in collaboration with Grass Roots Rescue.
The event brought out tons of adorable pups from adoptable dogs to loyal regulars all dressed up and ready to show off their best Halloween looks.
As part of the contest, Big Chill Surf Cantina donated 10% of sales, $180, to Grass Roots Rescue, a Delaware nonprofit that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes dogs in need through its foster-based program.
“I love dogs, and being able to give back to such a great cause makes me so happy,” said Emily Burns, marketing coordinator for Big Chill. “It was such a fun day, seeing so many dogs in costume and knowing it all went toward a great cause made it even better. We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
Guests enjoyed good vibes, creative costumes and a perfect fall afternoon on the patio all while supporting a mission that gives dogs a second chance.
