Children’s book author event set Nov. 30

Local author Ed Haggerty will sign copies of his children’s book, “Beeper,” at 11 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach. 

“Beeper” tells the story of an abandoned grackle who is adopted and loved by a robin. Teased by the other birds because he is different, Beeper ultimately becomes their hero.

Haggerty, a Read Aloud Delaware volunteer, said the inspiration to create Peeper's story came to him through his experience of reading to young children.
