Johnny Janosik announces internal leadership promotions
Johnny Janosik recently announced several leadership promotions and organizational updates, reflecting the company’s strong internal talent and positioning it for continued growth.
Founded in 1953, the family-owned furniture retailer serves Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C., offering a wide selection of home furnishings, mattresses and accessories.
Jake Pickel has been promoted to president. With nearly 10 years at Johnny Janosik and more than 30 years of retail experience, Pickel has held positions of increasing responsibility and played a key role in the company’s growth. He will oversee operations, merchandising, marketing, IT and sales, reporting to Dan Welch, chief executive officer.
Debi Quillen has been promoted to chief sales officer. A 43-year employee, Quillen is widely respected for her industry expertise, leadership and long-standing contributions to the company. She will report to Pickel.
Pam Kidwell has been promoted to vice president of operations. A 26-year employee, Kidwell has led across customer service, distribution and operations, with a steady leadership presence during the post-COVID period. She will report to Pickel.
Stephen Whitaker has been promoted to director of sales. With nearly 11 years at Johnny Janosik and more than 20 years in furniture retail, Whitaker has led the company’s largest retail locations and will focus on strengthening sales leadership and performance. He will report to Quillen.
Kim Tyndall has been promoted to buyer and purchasing specialist. A five-year employee, Tyndall will assume expanded responsibilities in product selection and inventory flow analysis while continuing her current duties. She will report to Bob Russo.

Lori Janosik Morrison and Dave Koehler are owners and co-chairs of the board.
