RAL bus trip April 1 to take in special exhibit at Baltimore Museum of Art

March 18, 2026

The Rehoboth Art League will host a day trip Wednesday, April 1, to visit the Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore, Md. Participants will have the chance to view the acclaimed exhibit Amy Sherald: American Sublime, ahead of its closing Sunday, April 5.

Advance tickets are required and can be purchased at RehobothArtLeague.org or by calling 302-227-8408, Ext. 206. Cost includes travel on a coach bus to and from the museum, departing at 8 a.m. from the Rehoboth Beach Fresh Market parking lot, and returning to Rehoboth at about 6 p.m. Ticket holders will have timed entry to the special exhibit as well as opportunities to explore the rest of the museum and get lunch before returning to Rehoboth.

The Amy Sherald: American Sublime exhibit showcases 38 paintings created from 2007 to the present, telling the story of Sherald’s vision and practice from her early, rarely seen works to her iconic, larger-than-life portraits of Black Americans, including the National Portrait Gallery’s official portrait of former first lady Michelle Obama.

In addition to this special exhibition, on view in the galleries are modern art masterpieces from the internationally renowned Cone Collection, more than 1,000 artworks from Native North America, works from more than 200 African states and societies, and a collection of 15th- through 19th-century European art including Medieval and Renaissance works. Weather permitting, the nearly 3-acre Sculpture Gardens will also be open.

Space is limited and the trip is expected to sell out, so early booking is encouraged. Cancellations after Friday, March 13, cannot be refunded.
