Beebe auxiliary gives $50K toward new wheelchairs for patients
Beebe Healthcare Auxiliary is doing its part to ensure that patients with mobility limitations and challenges have a safe and comfortable experience when they choose Beebe for care. The auxiliary’s recent $50,000 donation to Beebe Medical Foundation was made to support the purchase of new wheelchairs, allowing patients and their families to navigate the hospital with ease and dignity from the moment they arrive.
“Patient experience is shaped by countless moments – many of them small, but all of them meaningful,” said Kay Young, executive director of development at Beebe Medical Foundation. “This gift will support our patients and care teams in an important and meaningful way. We are deeply grateful for Beebe Auxiliary’s continued partnership and their commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.”
Beebe auxiliary was founded in 1936, and since that time, it has contributed more than $6.1 million to the health system. In addition to fundraising efforts, auxiliary members volunteer and engage in community outreach efforts. The auxiliary also operates the hospital gift shop with an ongoing goal to raise money to improve the overall patient care environment and strengthen the patient experience.
“For generations, our volunteers have been proud to support Beebe,” said Wendell Alfred, Beebe auxiliary president. “This gift reflects our ongoing commitment to improving the experience that patients and families have while also supporting the incredible patient care teams who work here every day.”
