The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition will host its annual Broadwalk on the Boardwalk, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the walk stepping off at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, from CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. All are welcome to join in raising awareness, celebrating strength and walking toward a future without breast cancer.
This free event is a heartfelt community fundraiser created by Kathy Wiz in honor of her sister’s courageous battle with breast cancer. The event is more than just a walk; it’s a powerful tribute to those lost to cancer and a celebration of survivors. Community members, families and friends are invited to gather, walk and show their support by wearing pink.
Meridith Rothstein, DBCC survivorship specialist, said of the event, “It is a deeply emotional event that honors survivors in a powerful and symbolic way. Connie Holdridge [DBCC director of survivorship and education] steps out with her boxing gloves as ‘Rocky’ plays, representing the fight against breast cancer. The Rehoboth Beach Police Department closes the streets, allowing participants to march together down to Poodle Beach. There, participants form a heart surrounding the survivors at its center, an unforgettable visual that powerfully represents strength, unity and the enduring power of hope.”
The morning kicks off with a festive pre-walk celebration in the CAMP Rehoboth courtyard, featuring uplifting music by DJ Sue P, a 50/50 raffle, face painting for all ages and pink boas available for a donation.
At 10 a.m., participants will walk together along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and finish with a symbolic heart formation on the beach, a beautiful moment of unity, remembrance and hope.
Event registration is free and now open at give.debreastcancer.org/ge/broadwalk2026.
