Lewes woman wins $100K playing Powerball
A 74-year-old woman from Lewes is celebrating a $100,000 win after purchasing a ticket at the Super G near Rehoboth Beach for Powerball with Power Play. The lucky winner claimed her prize March 17 at Delaware Lottery headquarters.
A retired Delaware native, the anonymous winner said she has been playing the lottery for about nine years. She does not follow a specific method when selecting numbers and plays simply for the chance to win.
She discovered her win by checking the numbers online and said she was ecstatic when she realized she had matched the winning combination. The first person she shared the news with was her husband. She has not yet decided how she will spend the prize.
“We’re thrilled for this winner and excited to celebrate this significant Powerball prize,” said Helene Keeley, Delaware Lottery director. “Wins like this are always exciting moments, and we encourage all players to enjoy the experience while continuing to play responsibly.”
