Harbaugh brothers will battle in Super Bowl XLVII

January 24, 2013

So much for my Super Bowl prediction! The Feb. 3 Super Bowl matchup between the Ravens and the 49ers with head coaches brothers Jim and John Harbaugh will be very exciting and remembered for a long time! As remarkable and unusual as that is, I'm sure the sports pundits will annoy us all in the next few weeks! My pick is the Ravens in support of Joe Flacco as an alum of the University of Delaware.

The only thought I have to share about Lance Armstrong's interview last week is that it left me even more disappointed in him. He is the Barry Bonds of cycling!

On a lighter note, with all of us wishing for spring, the bigger golf tournaments have started. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy missed the cut in their first event in Abu Dhabi. Tiger would have made the cut if he had not been penalized two strokes for breaking a rule on the fifth hole in round 2. McIlroy had no chance to make the cut. He looked very rusty.

The Flyers have gotten off to a very bad start, losing their opener to Pittsburgh 3-1 then dropping 5-2 to Buffalo and 3-0 to New Jersey. The Flyers' losses are shared by both defense and offense. Maybe it's because of the short training camp. Whatever it is, the offense needs to quit with the fancy stuff and just shoot the puck!  This abbreviated season demands a lot more consistency--no time to recover from a bad series.  We will have to see if the Philly boys decide to step it up!

I will talk about  the Australian Open in tennis next week.
