Margaret Ellen Hughes, Registered Nurse

Margaret Ellen Hughes, 87, of Lewes, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

She was born in Wilmington, Oct. 16, 1925, the daughter of the late Harry E. Wilhelm and Orah R.Bradley. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William R. Hughes; two sons, Daniel E. and David E. Hughes; and a brother, Raymond B. Wilhelm.

Peggy was a Registered Nurse and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and was an avid gardener. She loved her “special” time with her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to be with them. She will be forever in their hearts.

She will be sadly missed by her son, William R. Hughes Jr. of Lewes, his wife, Pamela, and their son, Liam, who dearly loved his “Mom-Mom”. In addition to Liam, she leaves behind beloved grandchildren Jennifer Hughes of Elizabethtown, Pa. and Jeffrey Hughes of Williamsport, Pa. She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Donalee Hughes of Elizabethtown and Brenda Hughes of Ponte Vedra, Fla.

Funeral services will be private.
