Beebe Healthcare Presents Community Conversation on Dignity at the End of Life

January 13, 2014

Decisions made at the end of life can be difficult for families and loved ones, and often lead to arguments, hurt feelings and even damaged relationships. On the other hand, fruitful and engaging conversations that inspire respect and understanding of one another can prepare everyone for what the future brings.

Beebe Healthcare will present a unique forum about end-of-life planning to take place Tuesday, February 11, at the CHEER Community Center at 20520 Sand Hill Road in Georgetown. This free “Community Conversation on Dignity at End of Life Care” will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.  Jeffrey M. Fried, FACHE, President and CEO of Beebe Healthcare, will welcome attendees and facilitate a panel discussion of representatives from the medical, legal, spiritual, and wellness and community support professions.

“This community conversation will be a venue to share thoughts and concerns about end of life, and to ideally open the doors for future dialogue,” says Keith Goheen, the Chaplain at Beebe Healthcare. “We hope that we will be able to give people some support and help in making the best choices in regards to their own ethics and beliefs as they approach end of life issues.”

A light lunch will be provided. Anyone interested in attending is welcome.  Reservations are requested. To reserve or learn more information, please telephone Beebe Healthcare’s Patient Experience department at (302) 645-3300, extension 5367.
