Josephine C. O'Hollaren, dedicated homemaker

Josephine C. O’Hollaren, 95, of Lewes, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at Cadbury At Lewes. She was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Wilmette, Ill, daughter of the late John and Clara Costo.

“Jo” was a proud and dedicated homemaker, who along with her husband, Dean, raised their two sons. She taught many valuable lessons and morals to her children. Jo had been a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Hockessin. An avid golfer, Jo could often be found hitting the links at the DuPont Country Club where she won the Associate Women’s Championship. She enjoyed playing bridge and hosting dinner parties. Most of all, Jo enjoyed times spent with her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and dear friend, Jo will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Dean L., and her three sisters, Elizabeth Barrett, Gemma Kruppa and Helen Nonnast. She is survived by her two sons, D. L. “Terry” O'Hollaren Jr. and his wife, Pat of Annapolis, Md. and J. R. “Jack” O’Hollaren and his wife, Lana of Rehoboth Beach; four grandchildren: Kristin O. Rauh and her husband John, Erin O. Bruno and her husband James, Ryan P. O’Hollaren and his wife Michelle and Conor N. O’Hollaren; two great-grandchildren: Aidan R. Rauh and Alexa Josephine Bruno.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
